Dokushō Villalba
The Master of Zen

Dokushō Villalba is a Zen Buddhist master and founder of the Luz Serena Zen Temple and the Sōtō Zen Buddhist Community Spain. He is also the creator of a mindfulness methodology rooted in Buddhist tradition and serves as academic director of the Escuela de Atención Plena (“Mindfulness School”).
A writer and translator, he is the author of more than forty books, including Zen in the Marketplace, Mindfulness: Theory and Practice, Simple Life, Deep Heart, and Flowing in the Eternal Present, contributing significantly to the integration of Zen practice into contemporary life.
With decades of dedicated practice and teaching, Dokushō brings the depth of an authentic Zen lineage into dialogue with modern approaches to consciousness and transformation. In his teaching, he emphasizes direct experience, disciplined practice, and the realization of presence beyond conceptual understanding.
Within the training, he offers a week on Buddhist meditation and expanded states of consciousness, inviting participants into a lived encounter with stillness, awareness, and the nature of mind.
