Paul McCormack

Keeper of the Resilient Heart

1f4

Paul McCormack is an accredited psychotherapist who has spent more than three decades working in the field of addiction and dependency. Alongside his psychotherapy practice, he has worked extensively in rehabilitation centres, community outreach clinics, and aftercare programmes, supporting individuals navigating the complex journey of recovery.

Trained in psychotherapy, Gestalt therapy, Jungian psychotherapy, and somatic approaches, Paul combines clinical experience with a deep respect for the human capacity to heal and grow. He holds diplomas from Trinity College Dublin, the Dublin Gestalt Centre, and the C.G. Jung Centre Zürich, and is also a certified facilitator of Holotropic Breathwork.

Paul’s work integrates harm-reduction approaches with a deep appreciation for the transformative power of the twelve-step traditions, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and related communities that support long-term recovery and personal growth.

He is particularly interested in the healing potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness and how they may support the recovery process when held within a safe and respectful framework.

Known for his humor, warmth, and unmistakably Irish storytelling spirit, Paul has a remarkable ability to bring lightness even into the darkest moments of the recovery journey.

Whether supporting someone through difficulty or leading an impromptu sing-along around the fire with a guitar in hand, he embodies the belief that healing often unfolds through connection, courage, and shared humanity.
